There is no better place to sit back and relax than a beautiful decking area. Drink some wine, have a bbq or perhaps entertain with friends. Why not enhance the experience by decorating your decking area with accessories, cushions, lighting and many more exciting additions!
Adding accessories and structuring a design for your decking area can make it feel more homely and add a dash of style. Fiberon Decking takes pride in using eco-friendly composite decking as the ideal material for your outdoor hub. Choose from an array of decking styles to begin creating a magnificent space in your garden.
Additionally, very little maintenance is required – even through the colder months, so you can spend more time enjoying your newly decorated decking area and get the most out of it – whatever the season. Check out our maintenance guide with a few easy steps to help you on your way.
A splash of colour can really brighten up your decking, keeping it a place of peace and relaxation. Focus on one or two colours to create a sense of unity for your space. It’s a great idea to use a dash of blue or green, as this can make it more vibrant, while not distracting too much from the garden fauna. This can be achieved using bold blue cushions, green candle holders or even a chic blue seating area. Adding a water feature can really enhance the environment and creates a soothing aura. Look forward to the autumn! The brown, yellow and red tones of the fallen leaves will perfectly complement the natural wood finish.
When it comes to certain events such as Halloween or Christmas, your decking area is the perfect place to entertain! Use some different styles of lighting such as uplighters around the area and compliment with accessories such as ornaments, decorative trees/shrubs and water features. But don’t forget the pumpkin!
Stepping it up
Adding steps or a rise to your decking creates depth and can give the illusion that you have a separate room in your garden. It also provides another level for entertaining (and more excuses to decorate!).
Positioning greenery and foliage around your decking can create a decorative wall. This can be used to create ‘rooms’ for larger decks where steps and levels are combined. It can also give a level of privacy from overlooking properties.
Furniture can go a long way to helping create the ideal decking area. Versatility is important for year round enjoyment. Make sure to remove cushions through wetter months. Using the table or chiminea as a centre-piece can create a focal point for though autumnal drinks in the evening or summer cocktails.
Don’t forget, your decorations and accessories should complement your decking. For example, decking boards with a more rustic feel will combine well with similar styled decorative items such as a woven dark seat, traditional furniture and weathered walling.
If you don’t yet have composite decking in your garden, we would highly recommend installing some! It’s perfect all year round, creates a useful and versatile space and can even add value to your house.
