Fast Facts FAQ:
Do I Need To Use Stainless Steel Fixings?
A4 stainless steel is an ideal material for fixing soffits, fascias and cladding due to its anti-rust properties. Using other materials could lead to unsightly rust stains and potential damage if the fixing were to rust through completely.
What's The Difference Between Fascias & Soffits?
Soffits are used to help the roof breathe and are fitted underneath the fascias. Fascias are used to make the roofline look more attractive and provide structural support to the guttering.
Are Fascias, soffits & Cladding easy To Fit?
If you are a competent DIYer and use the correct tools and A4 stainless steel fixings, there is no reason why you cannot fit fascias, soffits and cladding yourself. If in doubt, contact a professional installer.
Should I use Nails Or Screws For Fixing Cladding?
Our POLYTOPS® pin, nails and cladding pins are the recommended way of fitting fascia and soffits by all major PVCu manufacturers.
What fixings should I use for Fascias?
Fix Direct recommends using the stronger and longer POLYTOPS® A4 Marine Grade nails and fixing centres at around 400 to 600mm.
How Many Fixings Do I need To Buy?
